DIY Pole Wooden Planter

By just reading the title, you would never really be able to guess what it is that we will be trying to make today. Unlike the other diy wood pallet planter box and the diy outdoor planter bench, which were pretty straight forward. This is essentially a diy wooden planter that has a built in pole for string lights. Now that would have been a hell of a long title now, wouldn’t it? LOL

I have definitely seen my fair share of diy planter designs, in the last couple of years. What I loved about this one is that instead of just sticking a pole into the dirt, this one is actually attached to the planter. Since we are living off grid, I am going to look for some solar powered string lights to attach to the poles. Beautiful and environmentally friendly too, you gotta love it.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Measure and make the required cuts, then you can start by building the frame of the planter. When the frame is complete, you can then move on to attaching the slats using wood glue as well as a brad nailer. Caulk and fill any openings to ensure the planter is water tight.

We are going to stain as well as paint ours too. (hmmm, I am thinking a light grey) Fixing the poles to the planter is the last step, before you actually hang the lights on them. When the lights come on at night, this is going to look very very pretty. It’s worth all your time and effort.
