How To Grow Clementines From Seeds

Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling clementines. LOL Please excuse my singing, for some weird reason I thought that would be a great way to start this post. Anywho, since you liked the posts on how to grow grapes from seeds and how to grow nutmeg tree from seeds. I thought today we should perhaps look at how to grow clementines from seeds.

Well just like most other citrus fruits, you can actually remove and collect seeds from the fruit. Although it is not guaranteed that a sweet one, will result in a tree that bears sweet fruit I would still just collect the seeds from sweet fruit. Whether you plant your tree outside or keep it indoors in a pot will depend on your climate.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • clementine seeds
  • paper towel
  • warm water
  • small pot
  • potting soil
  • 10-10-10 fertilizer

The most important stage of the whole process, is the whole seed clean up one. There is the initial clean up, then the overnight soaking and then more cleaning in the morning. Only then can you move on to planting the seeds.

Now all you have to do is to water regularly, ensuring the soil is always moist. Also make sure that the pots are exposed to enough sunlight during the day but not too much. How long does it take for the tree to bear fruit? Well, you will have to wait anywhere between 5 to 7 years.
