In these trying times, it helps to share a few ideas to ease the stress and burden on those loved ones around us. You have probably seen the posts on how to make homemade sanitizer and a more recent one on how to crotchet a hand sanitizer cozy. In today’s blog post we will be looking at how to you can easily make your own diy no sew face mask.
Due to the current high demand for face masks, ordinarily the search for the perfect diy face mask has heightened. This version actually does not require any sewing skills, if you can fold a piece of cloth you can make yourself one. Besides the cloth, there’s only one other thing that is required. I am not going to say this is a CDC approved mask, however if you do need to protect yourself when heading outside and you have no other option, they do recommend that you use cloth face coverings.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Step By Step Instructions:
Step 1.
Fully lay out your bandana or cloth square on the table top.
Step 2.
Fold the bandana in half and then again in half i.e. first fold it in half and then repeat by folding it once more in half.
Step 3.
Pull the hair ties through the bandanna from both ends towards the center. Start with one end and then repeat on the other end. The hair ties should be about 6 inches apart in the center.
Step 4.
Fold the outer edges of the cloth inwards over the hair ties, layering them on top of each other. Once again start on one side and then repeat on the other side.
Step 5.
That’s it your face mask is ready to wear!
How To Wear A DIY No Sew Face Mask? Simply pick up the hair ties on either end and wrap them around your ears. Adjust the mask to make sure that it fully covers your mouth and nose. Remember, to only use the mask once and to wash the bandanna after each use! 🙂
