As I was working with pallets yesterday, I remembered there is something that I have always wanted to make and today being the 4th of July was the perfect day to do it. It’s something along the lines of this diy pallet christmas tree and this diy wood pallet tool storage something. What on earth am I on about? Well, I am talking about this diy american flag made from wood pallets.
As with all diy wood pallet projects the main material can be found for free or at a very low cost. Actually for this particular one, if you have the paints available, then it is going to cost you nothing at all. The project itself should take about an hour to complete. After which you will have a ‘unique’ flag to display in your front or backyard. Ain’t that cool, huh?
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wood pallet
- white spray paint
- red spray paint
- blue spray paint
- blue painters tape
- sand paper
- paper or cardboard (optional)
- Cricut with Oracal 651 white vinyl (optional)
The blue section of the flag can be marked off using painter tape. You can then go ahead and paint the alternating red and white stripes. For the stars you have the option of either painting them on or like her using the Cricut with Oracal 651 white vinyl. Alternatively, you could just use paper or cardboard to create a template. If you are going for the rustic look, a quick sand paper job will do the trick.
