Of course, you enjoy your bacon with you breakfast, right? You could also have some bacon in this chicken bacon ranch pull apart recipe or this stuffed mini peppers recipe. Usually we make jam, from different fruits and vegetables. However, the bourbon bacon jam recipe is different.
Lately, I have started discovering many cool bacon recipes and I absolutely love it. You know that bacon always tastes better when crispy, well for me at least and this recipe does not disappoint. You have your greens and then you throw in the various spices and seasonings to end up with the most interesting taste your taste buds have ever encountered. Set aside an hour to make yourself a batch, you will thank me!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- bacon
- shallots
- vidalia onion or any sweet onion
- garlic cloves
- chili powder
- smoked paprika
- bourbon
- maple syrup
- balsamic vinegar
- brown sugar
- frying pans
- paper towels
- food processor
- cheesecloth
- mason jars
- sharp knife
The trick is to get the bacon as crispy as possible in order to make the best jam ever. You want the fat to be very minimal, and you can use the paper towels to remove any excess fat your bacon. The sauce is prepared separating before adding the bacon bits back into the pan. You can choose to have smooth or chunky jam, before packing it into the jars. I like mine on the chunky side. Store your jam in the fridge.
