How To Remove Stains From Plastic Cutting Boards

Life would be so much easier, if the only stains one had to deal with were those found on your clothes. Do you remember I showed you how to make your own diy miracle stain remover, the diy all natural magic eraser and also how to clean your old cookie sheets? Well today I thought that why not tackle how to remove stains from your plastic cutting boards. I realize that many of us still use plastic cutting boards in our kitchens.

Now these are the type of diy cleaning tips, that I live for. You could literally walk into your local grocery, purchase the three required ‘ingredients’ and head home to remove the stains. I have heard that other people have resorted to using bleach for this particular stain removing job, however I would strongly advise you against this, solely for health reasons. Oh I most forgot to mention, there is absolutely no heavy scrubbing required too! So are you ready to remove those board stains?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions:

Step 1.

Mix all the ingredients in the small bowl.

Step 2.

Use the kitchen brush to spread the ‘cleaning’ mixture over your cutting board.

Step 3.

Let the cutting board sit in your sink overnight.

Step 4.

The next day, wipe the cleaner off and wash the board with dish detergent and water.

Step 5.

That’s it! Allow your cutting board to dry, before use.

Instead of leaving the board in your sink overnight, you can let it sit in there for a couple of hours. You could also try remove the stains without adding the baking soda. In which case you just spray the hydrogen peroxide on the board, let it sit overnight and then wash it off with dish detergent plus water. I prefer to add the baking soda since it is a natural abrasive, it helps loosen those pesky food stains too. For cleaning the boards, I just scrub it with half a lemon.
