Washing clothes with set in oil stains, used to be a daunting task for me until the day I discovered the ‘secret’. In previous posts I showed you how to remove stains from plastic cutting boards and how to clean old cookie sheets in your kitchen. Today we find ourselves in the laundry room where I’ll be showing you how to remove set in oil stains from your clothes.
Every home needs these diy cleaning hacks, at your disposal. You probably would have never guessed that WD-40 is the ‘secret ingredient’ for removing those stubborn oil stains. However, in addition to applying it to your clothes, there are a few other essential steps that are required in order to successfully remove the stains. Personally, I’ve found that patience and perseverance when working with the baking soda, usually results in your clothing being stain free at the end of the whole process.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Before you can remove any oil stains, you’ll have to revive them. This is the job of the WD-40, it can either be sprayed or dabbed onto the clothes. When the stain is revived, the baking soda then comes into play and it’s job is to lift the stain from the clothes. Pre-treating with the liquid detergent is next before washing and drying the clothes as you would normally do. By the time your dryer stops running, the stain should no longer be visible. Otherwise, you may need to repeat the whole process once again. Good Luck! 🙂
