We usually have a good supply of fresh milk on the homestead. In previous post we have looked at canning milk and also how to dehydrate milk. So the truth be told, I haven’t needed to use this preservation method often. However, I still thought that there maybe someone out there would still want to know how to freeze milk.
There are actually quite a few options when it comes to preserving your milk, for future use. It is a great way to save your milk, especially for use in various recipes in your kitchen, not so much for drinking. This particular method featured in this post also allows you to preserve your milk in smaller batches. That way you can just thaw only what you need to use, and leave the rest for later use.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- milk
- measuring cup
- muffin pan
- warm water
- knife
- ziploc bags
- marker
Alrighty, so I would like to think this is a pretty straight forward way to preserve your milk. The measuring cup can be used as guide when you are pouring the milk into the muffin pan. Ideally you want about a 1/4 cup of milk in each muffin ‘hole’. At the end of it all you should have a ziploc bag with your ‘milk blocks’ ready for storage in the freezer. Don’t forget to label and date your bags.
