And there you were thinking that you are growing cinnamon in your garden, so you can use it in your kitchen only. Just like the post on how to use banana peels in your garden and the other one on eggs we are about to expose ways that you can also use cinnamon in your vegetable garden.
I understand that cinnamon does have many health benefits too, but that is not what we will be looking at in this post. After reading it, you may want to take your cinnamon shaker out to the garden and try some of these for yourself. Tip #1. Ant Repellent
It just so happens that ants detest cinnamon, so if you take some and sprinkle it on the base of your plants. That will be enough to keep the ants away. Don’t worry it won’t kill them, just keep them away.
Tip #2. Fury Pests Repellent
Same as above rabbits, squirrels, moles and other small critters do not enjoy what cinnamon does to their mucus membranes when they breath it in. As a result, if you sprinkle some cinnamon around your garden, you will be able to keep these critters at bay.
Tip #3: Rooting Hormone
Here’s a tip that could end up saving you a lot of money, especially if you still purchase your rooting hormone. What you can do instead is sprinkle some cinnamon on the stem of your cutting. Try it and you will be surprised at how it works just the same.
Tip #4: Healing Plant Wounds
Yes, your plants get wounds too. Just think of how many times you have snipped or cut somewhere you did not intend to especially when you are pruning your plants. Sprinkle some cinnamon on those ‘wounds’ to aid the healing process. Not too much just a little sprinkle will do the trick.
