Homemade Cough Remedy Recipe

It is that time of the year again, when the whole family is susceptible to the dreaded cold or cough. I have shared another homemade cough and cold syrup in a previous post. However, I have since discovered an even more potent homemade cough remedy recipe.

Similar to the previous one, this is made from 5 everyday ingredients found in any kitchen. When you combine them you get a powerful homemade concoction, that is not only good for coughs, but also sore throats, stuffiness and colds. I love that you can whip this up in just 5 minutes, as needed.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • apple cider vinegar
  • raw honey
  • water
  • cayenne pepper
  • ground ginger
  • small mason jar

The recipe itself is incredibly simple. Measure out your apple cider vinegar, honey, water, cayenne pepper and ginger. Put everything in the mason jar and mix well. That is all there is to it, your remedy is ready. Store in cool dry place for up to a week or in your refrigerator for longer periods.

Recommended Dosages: For ages 12 and under, one teaspoon should do the trick. Anyone 12 years and older can take a tablespoon every few hours. Always remember to shake well, before use.
