DIY Wood Pallet Goat Barn

It has been a while since I have featured a wood pallet project on here, and it just so happens that I ran into the perfect pallet project just this morning. Unlike the diy wood pallet goat shelter from a previous post, this diy wood pallet goat barn is larger.

It is no secret that I love these diy wood projects that recycle and re-purpose materials such as the wood pallets. Thank goodness these pallets can usually be found for free, this cuts down the total cost of your project.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old wood pallets
  • lag bolts
  • tin roof
  • cinder blocks
  • clams
  • hand drill
  • circular saw
  • 4X4 lumber
  • stakes

This barn will measure about 10′ X 10′, so ideally placing 3 pallets for each wall should do the trick. The lag bolts are used to hold the pallets together, before you can build a second layer on top of the first one.

The cinder blocks can be used to create the foundation, and level out the barn if you are building it in a sloping area. The 4X4s make good corner supports, but will need stakes in order to keep them sturdy.

Your tin roof will go on next, after which you can attach your choice of siding to the outer walls of the barn. This barn should be able to house up to 10 goats without any problems. It provides your goats protection from harsh weather be it in summer or winter.
