Hey it’s natural, even us human beings need to scratch the itch every now and again. In a previous post I shared this diy gosat scratching post. However after watching them use it, I realized that they may need a larger scratch surface area. Boy was I excited when I ran into this diy plastic grass mat scratch post for goats.
They are quite a few ideas out there when it comes to goat accessories. What I loved about this particular one is its simplicity and affordability. You can either purchase a new mat or just reuse an old one. As you will see from the instructions below, it should not take more than 10 minutes to have one of these set up. If your goats could talk, they would probably thank you for days. LOL
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- plastic grass mat---------------------- Advertisement ----------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------- - post or small tree
- screws with washers
- handheld drill
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Wrap the grass mat around the post
at a height that your goats can easily reach.
Step 2.
Attach the mat using screws or nails.
That’s it. Your scratching post is ready for your goats to go wild on. Make sure that you attach it firmly to your post, otherwise those naughty goats will loosen it within a few days if not hours. It may also be a good idea, to make a few of these, especially if you have a few goats.
