When you decide to start raising goats no one ever tells you how much these guys like to scratch themselves. We already have the diy wood pallet goat hay feeder, so we wanted to add something else to improve their comfort. It looks like something like this diy goat scratching post, would be the perfect choice.
Don’t worry this is a very simple and affordable project. You can re-purpose and use any posts lying around the homestead, as well as the brushes. Otherwise a quick run to your local hardware and dollar store will afford you all the tools you need for this project.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- scrub brushes
- wood screws
- hand drill
- wooden posts
- concrete (optional)
Setting these up is pretty simple, just drill holes in the center brushes and then screw them using the hand drill to the posts. If you already have posts making up a perimeter or shed fence that is perfect, otherwise you can just dig holes to put your posts in.
Make sure you put these at a height and area that the goats can easily reach. You will notice once they realize that these are in place, they will keep constantly coming to rub against saving you damage on your house or cabin walls.
