DIY Plastic Drawer Storage System

It is not supposed to look pretty, it is built to be storage. That is what I said to the hubby after he had stated the obvious. Over the years I have shared quite a few storage solutions on this blog, such as the diy corner vegetable storage bin and the diy pull out under sink cabinet organizer. This diy upcycled plastic container storage system, should also get the job done. Don’t you think?

One can never have too many diy storage solutions, in fact I always aim to have as many options at all times. This is an upcycling project too, which means it can be super affordable especially if you can find the plastic containers for free. If you do not have a readily built shelf system, you may have to build that first. That will entail a little extra work for you, but nothing that you cannot handle.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • ready built shelve system
  • empty plastic containers
  • marker
  • utility knife
  • soap
  • water

If you hate repetitive tasks this project is probably one that you should avoid. You are going to need to cut out one of the sides of each of the containers. It is easier if you use your first cut out as a template to mark your other cutouts before using your utility knife to do the actual cutting. Make sure you wash out all your containers thoroughly, before assembly. It’s a great way to make a cheap storage system for your garage or shed.
