Before they are fully grown and you can enjoy them, in most cases they start of as seeds. I have already shared how to make diy citrus peel seedling starter pots, diy self watering seed starter pots and even diy seed starting mix. I found these diy origami paper plant pots and my little finger just had to make some.
Well, most of us think diy newspaper projects involve paper machee only, but this is not true at all. Take these pots for example, you get to reuse old newspaper and give it new life as plant pot. A biodegradable one too, as a matter of fact. I have to admit the first time you try this it is a bit confusing, however they say practice makes perfect.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- newspaper
- marker
- measuring tape
- scissors
- ruler
Get your tape measure out, because you are going to have to measure and cut your newspaper before the folding can begin. Depending on the size of the pots you want to make, always remember that you want your length to be double the size of the width. For example, a 11 X 22 inch newspaper will leave you with a pot that has a 3 inch base.
The first two folds are half on half, starting lengthwise. Have you ever made a paper plane? I hope so because the next stage incorporates those initial ‘plane’ folds. Unlike with the plane though, you will only concentrate on one side, before folding the other side. After a couple more folds, you should have your pot ready for planting.
