Those empty plastic bottles can be very handy, huh? Remember the diy hanging soda bottle planter, the diy plastic soda bottle self waterer and the diy plastic soda bottle drip feeder that we looked at in previous posts. You know I am always trying to find easier ways to water my seeds or garden. I recently discovered this diy self watering plastic bottle seed starter.
What I really love about these diy plastic bottle projects, is how easy most of them are to complete. Well, by reusing the plastic bottles we are also being environmentally friendly, we saving the earth people. You can pretty much plant any of your favorite seeds and it is the perfect project to set up as a family.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- scissors
- empty plastic water bottle
- plastic wrap
- seeds
- popsicle stick
- potting soil
- marker
If your bottle still has any labels, those must be removed before you start this project. The bottle will need to be cut in half and you’ll also need plastic wrap big enough to cover the bottle. When all is set up, you will have a water reservoir as well as a few seeds planted in the potting soil. Why not make a couple of these for different seeds and don’t forget to label each one.
