DIY Pig Watering Bowl

There is no life without water, apparently we can live for 30 days without food but only 72 hours without water. In the past we have looked at this diy automatic pig waterer as well as this diy tire and battel pig feeder. Another viable solution you could implement is this diy pig watering bowl.

Personally, I don’t think it is a good idea to spend money on a watering system for your pigs. Unless you are running a commercial piggery or something. The reason simply being that those guys can be very rowdy, and it won’t take them long to damage whatever you place in there. This bowl reuses materials that you probably have lying around unused around your homestead.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • metal bowl
  • old tire

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Clean off any rust on your metal bowl.

Step 2.

Insert the metal bowl into the
inner ring of the tire.

Step 3.

Place it in your pig pen and fill with water.

The good thing about this type of watering solution is that the tire weighs it down, so the pigs will have a harder time pushing it around. Also I think if you can find a heavier tire, the better. One last thing, make sure that your tire is not too high off the ground, otherwise the pigs will not be able to access the water. LOL
