I don’t care what you say, I know for a fact that you can never have enough storage in any home. Over the years we have created various storage solutions such as the diy mobile laundry station and the diy wood floating shelf. However, that won’t stop me from adding this diy metallic rope basket to my arsenal.
It’s a pity that I don’t take on a lot more diy storage solution projects, but that is something that I should probably change. For example, this basket that is perfect for your blankies and throws will take up just about an hour of your time. The end result though, is spectacular. Especially when you consider that you started off with a laundry basket that costs a dollar.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- round laundry basket
- metallic copper paint
- ½” jute rope
- felt, fleece or muslin
- hot glue gun
- glue sticks
- utility knife
- paint brush
Your laundry basket will provide the required sturdy structure. The felt material is added next and attached using the hot glue gun. Then the fun begins, you can wrap the rope around the basket starting from the bottom working your way up to the top. With the rope and felt neatly tucked in the top, you can then finish off the basket with a nice coat of your favorite metallic paint color. That’s it, your done! 🙂
