DIY License Plate Birdhouse

Don’t you just love it when you can bring new life to something? It is no secret that I had so much fun with projects such as the diy picture frame tiered tray and the diy recycled door chicken coop. When I saw the plans for this diy old license plate birdhouse, I just knew I had to try it.There

Seriously, I love these diy recycling projects. I have seen license plates turned into other things before, but not a birdhouse. Besides the screws that you need to hold everything together, you only need some plywood and the plate itself. You can attract many different types of birds such as bluebirds, tree swallows, chickadees, nuthatches, warblers, woodpeckers, and even wrens. This is a simple diy project that is ideal for beginners.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

You are going to need the plans in order to mark and make the required cuts. Before assembly make sure that you drill the entrance hole. The size of the door will depend on the type of bird you are trying to attract. Pre-drill all the holes for your screws, and then start the assembly process. Applying the wood glue will help strengthen the joints. The license plate when bent in half becomes the roof. All that’s left is a few drainage holes and optionally some paint.
