Are you ready for yet another wood pallet re-purposing project. I tend to have a lot of fun with these. The last one we did was the diy wood pallet dining set and before that was the diy wood pallet block clock. This one will probably leave your coffee mugs happier than ever, I am talking about the this diy wood pallet coffee mug holder project.
The cupboard that we used to keep our coffee mugs no longer has enough space to hold all of them. So being the crafty diy person that I am, I decided to look up a quick solution on the wordwide web. That is how I ran into this wood pallet up-cycling project, that does not require you to dismantle the actual pallet. That leaves us with a relatively cheap and easy diy project. Yay!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wood pallet
- hooks and screws
- sandpaper
- right angle ruler
- ruler or tape measure
- pencil
- safety glasses
- circular saw
- cordless drill
- screwdriver
- power washer
- paint, letter stencils, sponge brush (optional)
This project shouldn’t take more than a day or two to complete. If you have a power washer, you may want to give the pallet a good clean before getting started. Although you don’t have to dismantle it, you are probably not going to need to cut the pallet to a smaller more manageable size to hang up in your kitchen.
Use the sandpaper to sand it down, in order to prevent any splinter mishaps. If you are going to add the lettering, or any other designs the top section is the best spot for it. Otherwise, take your sweet time measuring and adding the hooks to your pallet. All that is left to do is to hang up the holder, and then of course the coffee mugs themselves.
