DIY Irish Knit Tea Cosy

My mum use to make her teapots wear these things, which we called teapot dresses. Ha ha haa. Many years have passed since I saw one of these, so imagine my delight when I ran into this Irish knit tea cosy pattern. After having tried my hand at knitting with the chicken knit sweaters, I was eager to try this one as well.

For those of us who have never read a knitting pattern in their lives before, you may want to learn how to do that first. Although the pattern itself is not too complicated, it is still written in ‘knitting pattern’ language. There is also some crocheting thrown in somewhere in there, which made it even more exciting for me. Yes, I am weird like that. LOL

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Let the knitting fun begin, with your needles in hand begin by casting on 52 stitches. Next, you work the ribbing for 4 rows before moving on to the pattern stitches. Just make sure that you start with the right side facing you. The next four stitches will be the double seed stitch. Place a marker at the end of that sequence.
