Forgive me, I know it is no way near Summer yet, but I could not help myself. This follows my other awesome bbq ideas such as the diy homemade bbq barrel and the diy ugly drum bbq smoker. I am talking about this diy wooden spool bbq table, that I discovered the just the other day.
Of all the diy bbq ideas, that I have encountered in the past this one really got me excited. I mean how do you think of re-purposing and upcycling a wooden spool into a table, which has a place to bbq in the middle. If you are worried about the smoke from the fire pit, don’t because there is a cover. Now the only thing you should be thinking about is, where to get your spool so you can get started. LOL

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wooden cable spool reel
- sand paper
- jig saw
- tape measure
- marker
- linseed oil
- wood stain(optional)
- sander (optional)
- small portable bbq stand
Once you have acquired your industrial cable reel, the first thing you have to do is sand it down. The BBQ will go in the center inside the metal rods, that hold the reel together. Decide the size of your bbq, then go ahead and measure and cut out a hole in the middle of the reel.
Make sure that your chosen portable bbq will fit in the hole you cut out. Once you have confirmed the fit, you can then move on to staining the wood. A few coats maybe needed to achieve the desired look. Leave your wood stain to dry for a few days, before using the bbq in your table. All that is left to do is to find stools or chairs, that fit around your table.
