Arrrgh, those pesky mosquitos. They just won’t let you enjoy your Summer nights outside in peace, they always got to be whizzing around and stabbing your every chance they get. I know I have already shared with you this homemade mosquito repellent and the diy citronella mason jar candles. But what happens if all your attempts at preventation fail? Well then it is time to go into the ‘cure’ stage and hence try some simple home remedies for mosquito bites.

Unlike most other home remedies, you maybe surprised at how simple the ones I am going to highlight today actually are. In most cases, it is just one ingredient prepared and the applied in a certain way to provide relief. Naturally when things turn out to be simple, we have a tendancy to question their effectiveness. In this case, I can personally vouch for the remedies listed below, since I have successfully used them myself.

Home Remedy #1 : Lemon

This is by far my favorite one. You can either rub the lemon rind on your affected area, make some lemon juice or just cut the lemon into quaters and rub onto the affected area. I find that the latter tends to provide faster relief, so that is what I usually do.

Home Remedy #2: Garlic

I am still waiting to see the one thing that garlic can not treat. This is the reason why I always make sure I have some garlic growing in my garden. What you want to do is chop and mince the garlic and then apply to the affected area.

Home Remedy #3: Baking Soda

When it comes to baking soda, there is two different ways you can use it. You can either dissolve a teaspoon in a glass of water and apply that to the affected area. Or you can just use a little water to make a paste and then in turn apply that to your bites.

You see, there is really no need to rush out to the pharmacy to grab some over the counter relief cream. These simple solutions methods mentioned above will do the trick for you and your family. I would suggest that you try them out and then choose one that you feel does the best job.
