Well, this red velvet cinnamon rolls recipe will definitely give them a run for their money.
Throw any red velvet recipes at me and you will see how I automatically start drooling. The great thing about these rolls is that you can use the cake mix to make them. That will save you a lot of time in itself, considering that you have to wait for a total of at least 3 hours for the dough to rise. However, someone wise once said ‘good things come to those who wait’, well they nailed it right on the head when it comes to these rolls.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- red velvet cake mix
- all-purpose flour
- active dry yeast
- warm water
- brown sugar
- ground cinnamon
- butter
- confectioners’ sugar
- vanilla extract
- cream cheese frosting (optional)
- 2% milk
- food processor
- brush
- kitchen towel
Alright, bring out the food processor and process the cake mix, yeast, flour and water. The goal is to form a soft, but sticky dough. Your hands then go to work kneading the dough, before it is left to rise in a covered greased bowl in a warm place for at least 2 hours. You will know it is ready for the next step, as soon as it appears double its original size.
The sugar and cinnamon are prepared in a seperate bowl and added to the flattened out dough. There is a little skill required when rolling and cutting the dough, follow the instructions carefully. After leaving it to rise again covered for a good 60 minutes, place them in the oven to bake. Whilst you wait, use that time to make the icing, which is then drizzled over the rolls.
