How To Grow A Tea Garden

Would you like a cuppa tea and crumpets? LOL I know that sounds very British, but please forgive me I couldn’t help it. We have covered how to grow chamomile tea and how to dry peppermint for tea in earlier posts on this blog. I thought it was time we just covered everything, whilst discovering how to grow a tea garden.

Unbeknownst to me, there are way more herbal teas than I ever imagined. However, do not let that discourage you, it is actually pretty easy to set up one of these gardens. Even better, you get to pick and choose which teas you want to grow, since it is your own personalized garden. The more variety you have available, the more leeway you have when it comes to mix and matching your herbs.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The easiest way to get started is to make use of an already established herb garden. If you do not have one set up, you can do so by nailing together a few planks. The garden has to be in a sunny spot in order to fully thrive. It is recommended that you work some compost into the soil before planting your herbal teas.

When it comes to maintenance, just keep your herbal tea garden weed free and water regularly. Some of the different herbal teas you can grow include peppermint, lavender, lemon verbena, rose hips, bergamot, chamomile, cilantro, thyme, violets and stevia. Depending on the herb, the tea will be made from either leaves, buds, or flowers. You’ll have a lot of fun growing and making your own tea, I promise. 🙂
