Most people who are not familiar with honeybees have a fear of being stung. In this post we will be looking at a few ways to help you avoid honey bee stings.
Since we live out here with nature, it is inevitable that we would run into bees. In addition, we also have this diy beehive in a jar on our homestead. Most people who are not familiar with honeybees have a fear of being stung. In this post we will be looking at a few ways to help you avoid honey bee stings.
All things being equal, it is important to note that there are a few different bee species. The most aggressive one being the Africanized or Killer bee, that one you should try to avoid by all means necessary. The others will sting you, but in most cases it is only after you have provoked them. For those of us who are allergic to bees or do not enjoy bee stings, here are a few tips for you.

1. Avoid Bees
You should always try to avoid the bees. If you come across a beehive, do not get close to it or even approach it. If you disturb their habitat, you can anger them and they will retaliate.
2. Protect Yourself
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you are swarmed by bees. Make sure that you walk away quickly in a straight line, do not zig zag. Also protect your face with your hands, covering your eyes, mouth as well as your nose.
3. Do Not Move
In most cases if you do not move, bees will not feel threatened by your presence and will therefore wont sting you. If they come to close, try staying still or you can slowly move them away from sensitive areas of your body like your eyes or ears. DO NOT swat the bees.
