I don’t care whatever you say, but Summer just rocks. There is just so much you can do and eat when the sun is out shinning bright. Besides spending more time in the garden, you get to enjoy homemade ice cream, homemade fudgesicle recipe and even homemade fizzy pineapple punch recipe too. And as if that is not enough, please allow me to share with you my favorite homemade snow cone syrup recipe.
This recipe requires 3 ingredients only and takes about 6 minutes to whip up. You probably won’t need to rush to your grocery store for these ingredients, these are the most common ingredients in any kitchen, anywhere in the world. I am not too crazy about the amount of sugar in the recipe, but hey a treat for my girls every week or so, shouldn’t be that bad, right?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- sugar
- water
- kool aid or extract
- saucepan
- container or condiment dispensers
- blender (optional)
When you heat up the sugar and the water, stir until dissolved. It may take a while, but once the water starts to heat up then the sugar dissolves faster. If you want to save a few minutes, just start with warm water instead. It is not really a syrup until you allow the mixture to boil for a minute at the very least.
Whether you are using extract or drink mix, it should be mixed in whilst the syrup is still hot. Then you can let it sit and cool, for a while. If you want to serve, within the hour then pop it into the fridge or freezer. If you don’t have a shaved ice maker, you can just crush ice in a blender. Any leftover syrup can be stored in a container or condiment dispenser, in your fridge. Enjoy! 🙂
