When it comes to cleaning up, no one wants to do it although it has to be done. What I have discovered however is, it is way easier if you are using the right cleaning products. In previous post we have looked at homemade grease cleaner spray and homemade oven cleaner. Today, I will be sharing my homemade scouring powder recipe.
Clearly, I am a fan of homemade cleaners, especially all natural ones. A great scouring powder must be abrasive and work well when it comes to cleaning your sink and counters. The great part, is that the ingredients you need are already readily available in your house. Not only is it super simple to make, it is also very cheap as well as gentle on the surfaces. It smells really good because of the essential oils, which also have great cleaning properties.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1/4 cup baking soda---------------------- Advertisement ----------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------- - 1 drop of lemon essential oil
- 1 drop of lime essential oil
- 1 drop of orange essential oil
- big mason jar
- marker (optional)
- label (optional)
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Add your baking soda into the mason jar.
Step 2.
Add the essential oils, one by one.
Step 3.
Screw on the lid and give the jar a good shake.
That’s it your scouring powder is ready for use. If you would like to make a bigger batch then simply multiply your ingredients as needed. Adding more drops of the essential oil, will give your scouring powder a stronger scent. Feel free to add any of your other favorite essential oils.
