How many of these do you need for your chicken coop? Well if you have been raising chickens for a while you know that you will probably go through quite a few of these every year. We have already tried the diy rain gutter chicken waterer and the diy chicken nipple waterer. Next we are going to try these diy watering cup chicken waterer.
When it comes to the different diy chicken waterer designs, I probably should start leaning towards the more expensive and complicated ones if I am concerned about durability. However, I feel like you can always easily make another one that it is not worth the money or the effort. I like how this particular design allows you to use a large reservoir to store water.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- rain barrel---------------------- Advertisement ----------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------- - poultry watering cups
- silicone
- handheld drill
- marker
- tape measure
- cinder blocks
This project is actually pretty straight forward. Simply mark and measure out where your your watering cups will go. Just make sure they are at least 2 inches above the bottom of the barrel or container. Then drill the holes, insert the cups and use some silicone to make it water tight. The waterer will sit on a platform made from cinder blocks, add some water and you are good to go.
