Spices are usually the ‘secret’ ingredient in many recipes. Well, for me at least. LOL. That is why I have amassed quite a huge collection. Recently, when I cleaned out my spice drawer, I decided it was time to finally get it organized. That is how I discovered this diy spice drawer organizer. The good Lord knows we have tried getting organized in the kitchen before, do you remember the posts on the diy pull out under sink cabinet organizer and the diy pantry shelf?
These easy diy kitchen organizations solutions are very helpful. Nobody wants a messy kitchen, right? Actually, I also managed to get mine built for free by using scrap wood that was lying around in our shed. Instead of applying the wood glue, you could staple or screw the plywood together. If you are feeling very creative and have plenty of time at your disposal, you can go as far as painting or staining your wood. Hmmm, you could even color code your spice drawer.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1/4″ 2×4 plywood
- 3/4″ 2×4 plywood
- measuring tape
- bar clamps
- wood glue
- miter saw, circular saw, jigsaw or hand saw
- glass spice bottles and labels (optional)
You’ll have to measure the inside of your spice drawer first. These are the measurements that are then transferred to the plywood, in order for you to make the required cuts. The boards are then glued together using wood glue and clamped in place to allow them to dry. Any excess glue must be wiped off, before it dries up. It’s way easier that way, trust me. When dry, you can proceed with the drawer assembly process, which is similar to building a LEGO structure.
