No more excuses for that messy pantry. Actually, there is no reason why yours should be in the first place. I have shown you how to build this diy hanging canned food storage and this diy pull our under sink cabinet organizer in previous posts. But you may still need this diy pantry shelf, especially if you need more storage.
When it comes to kitchen organization solutions, I am always ready to try new things. I know it’s called a pantry, but it is located in or next to a kitchen after all. This is not a beginner diy project, there is quite a few power tools that are required for this build. I love that this project is flexible as far as the dimensions of the shelf itself are concerned. If you are to head to the local hardware store to purchase all the materials, they should cost less than 50 bucks.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2x4s
- Kreg 2 1/2″ screws
- 2 1/2″ wood screws
- 2 1/2 inch wall screws
- Varathayne Briarsmoke
- Real Milk Paint Top Wax
- Paint and stain supplies
- sand paper
- hand drill
- miter saw
- Kreg jig
- level
- measuring tape
- stud finder
- sander
- wood glue
Before you head out to buy your materials from the hardware store, measure out how much space you have in order to determine the dimensions of your shelf. The cut list is provided, use it as a guide to make the required cuts. Assembly begins with the legs, after which you can sand, stain and paint your lumber.
Pocket holes are needed in order to be able to mount the boards and complete the final assembly. Whatever you do, don’t make the mistake of blindly drilling holes into your wall, use the stud finder. Also make sure that everything is level, before adding the shelves.
