DIY Plantable Seed Paper

With the sun out, we are definitely enjoying this lovely warm weather. We’ve always been on the look out for fun family summer projects and activities such as this diy garden seed bombs and this diy seed tape project. As it so happens, I ran into this diy plantable seed paper project earlier on this year and bookmarked it.

I love that this diy gardening project makes use of recycled paper. Anything from empty egg cartons, magazines, tissue paper, scraps of unprinted computer paper, newspaper, grocery bags and even pages from books that have fallen out. Instead of using the dehydrator, you can lay the seed paper out to dry in the sun. It may take a few days though, just make sure you cover it with some sort of netting to prevent the birds from pecking at the seeds.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Get busy and shred all your paper into tiny pieces which you’ll stuff into the blender. You’ll need to add some warm water, before you can begin the blending process. Next is the straining process, after which you can mix in the seeds. Once the seeds are in all that is left to do, is to thinly lay out the paper mush over wax paper and then cut it into desired shapes. Allow the dehydrator do its work for about 5 hours and your seed paper should be dry and ready for planting or gifting. !:)
