If you already do a lot of canning then you have access to a lot of mason jars. You can just recycle some of your old jars, as you do not need them to have lids on. I know the picture only shows four jars, but I would plant at least one jar for each herb that I need, as long as the jars are available.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- mason jars
- vintage style mason jar holder
- plants/herbs
- potting soil
- marker
- tape
Setting up your herb garden is super simple. Just fill up each of the jars halfway with the potting soil. You then plant your herbs into the jar and give them a little water, not too much. That is all there is to this, try not to forget to water them as needed.
As for the vintage holder, if you have access to one or something similar sure go for it, put your jars in there. However, it is not the end of the world if you do not, just line up your jars on your kitchen window sill, where they can get a lot of sunlight for the herbs to grow.
