How To Grow Rosemary In Mugs

I think the reason why most gardeners love planting herbs is, you can pretty much plant them anywhere. From the diy egg carton herb garden, to the diy plastic milk bottle herb garden and even the diy mason jar herb planters, your herbs will be happy. In today’s post we will be looking at how to grow rosemary in mugs.

As already mentioned above, they are probably thousands of diy herb planter ideas from you to choose from. You can never have a valid excuse for not having fresh herbs for use in your kitchen. For this project, you can reuse old mugs or you can go ahead and purchase new ones. The stand though will be made from left over scrap wood, you don’t need to buy that.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Drill a hole in the bottom center of each mug.

Step 2.

Cut the 2×4 so that you have a long section
about a foot tall and a base about 5″ long.

Step 3.

Use the nails to attach the long piece of
wood to the middle section of the shorter piece.

Step 4.

Use the plastic clips to attach the mugs to
the stand. Alternate sides as you go down,
with each mug facing outwards.

Step 5.

Fill the mugs with potting soil, plant your
rosemary plants inside and water them.

Instead of using enamel mugs, you could use plastic ones too. Try not to use heavy mugs, as they may end up too heavy for the stand and cause it to topple over. Also, you should not over water the plants or you may end up with a huge mess. If taken care off well, your herbs should thrive in their new planter for a long time.
