No more stinky rooms! There’s nothing more unsettling as walking into a house or a room with a funky stench. That’s why I always try to clean up and freshen all the rooms in our home as often as possible. We also use these homemade gel air fresheners and this homemade natural air freshener spray in some of the rooms. The rest have these diy mason jar air fresheners, which I will be showing you how to make today.
It seems like these diy air fresheners are becoming more and more popular, these days. Probably because, most of us now prefer to use all natural products vs store bought ones. I read on a forum somewhere that some opt for those Parmesan shakers available at dollar stores, instead of using mason jars. However, personally I have never tried using the shakers before. Feel free to experiment. Anyhow, it should take you anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes to make yourself one of these.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- essential oils
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- pint size mason jar
- small fabric
- elastic band
- aluminum foil
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1.
Add the baking soda to the mason jar.
Step 2.
Add 10 to 12 drops of essential oils into the jar and stir well.
Step 3.
Cover the top of the jar with a small piece of fabric.
Step 4.
Secure the fabric in place with a band.
Step 5.
Place the jar in any room or area that you need too keep fresh.
That’s it, you’re done. Every two weeks or so, I usually just give the jar a good shake in order to reactivate the fresh scent. After a few weeks though, like any other air freshener the scent begins to fade. At this point, adding an extra 3 to 5 drops of essential oils usually helps to give your fresh scent the much needed boost. My favorite essential oils scents are cinnamon bark, lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, peppermint as well as citrus bliss.
