DIY Magnetic Spice Jars

Do you use spices in your kitchen? I know it is a dumb question to ask, but you never know there might be someone out there who does not. LOL. I have already showed you how to make this diy wood pallet spice rack and this homemade pumpkin pie spice , in earlier posts. Would you like to know how to make your own diy magnetic spice jars, too?

This is one of those simple fun projects, that take a few minutes to complete. The time adds up though depending on how many jars you need to make. Then again if you have a few extra helping hands, you can reduce the total amount of time needed. Most of the items needed for this project can be purchased from a dollar store near you, that obviously means it is budget friendly too.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1.

Cover half the lid with tape and then
apply a single layer of chalkboard paint.

Step 2.

Allow the first layer to dry and then
apply another layer of paint.

Step 3.

Label the jar with name of the
spice that will be stored in the tin.

Step 4.

Turn the tin upside down, apply a little glue
and then press the small magnet into it.

Step 5.

Remove any excess glue around the edges
of the magnet with paper and leave to dry.

You can use a spoon to fill up your tin with the respective spice. Screw on the lid and make sure that the container is sealed before ‘sticking’ your tin onto any metal surface. It looks really cool on your refrigerator door, just make a few of these tins for all your spices. 🙂
