Even cats need a cozy perfect night’s sleep too! Sometimes they may just want to rest a little or take a quick daytime nap. Why not sew this diy cat bed, for your little fury friend, huh? In previous posts we’ve already covered making diy homemade cat food recipe and this diy winter cat shelter, this lil’ sewing project should also help enhance their well being.
As far as I see it, this one is at the very least an intermediate to advanced level sewing project. Also I would stick to using a sewing machine for the stitching, however if you like to do it the hard(er) way, feel free to do so. The bed dimensions are not fixed, therefore you can easily ‘sew to size’ and make one for any size cat. Although the batting is optional, it is highly recommended that you incorperate it into your beds.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
fabric
fabric shears
stuffing
tape measure
marker
sewing machine
batting (optional)
pinking shears (optional)
There two things that you must decide on before you start sewing your bed are the size and the shape of the bed. Once you have established those two, it’s just a matter of the measuring and cutting the fabric as directed by the instructions. There will be a couple of folds to be made, as well as some stuffing of the outer tube. The pillow is one of the last things that you’ll have to sew, before we can say the bed is ready for your cat.
