My girls asked for a pet cat the other day. Although the hubby and I are still thinking about it, I decided to do some research on the internet. We feed our dogs this homemade dog food and these homemade dog treats. I would love to be able to feed the cats, homemade cat food too.
Generally, as with us humans anything homemade is healthier as it would have less chemicals or other preservatives. When it comes to cats though, it seems you have to provide food that is specific to your breed. They also recommend that you stay away from dry and raw food as much as possible. Below I decided to feature one of the recipes I found online.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- ground meat
- rice
- hard-boiled egg
- olive oil
- chicken stock
- saucepan
- air tight container
- food processor
- potato masher
When it comes to the meat you can use chicken, beef, lamb or even turkey. Use the potato masher to mash your boiled eggs. Place the saucepan on the stove and add all the ingredients into it. Set the stove to medium- low heat and bring the contents to a boil. Reduce the heat.
Allow the stock to simmer for about 20 minutes, during which time the rice will absorb most of it. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Then empty into your food processor and carefully process until everything is blended well. Store in an air tight container in your fridge for up to 72 hours.
