Although I probably may never use this. I still thought this was a pretty awesome idea and worth sharing. Someone out there may actually find this useful perhaps in an emergency situation or just to save on electricity or gas. Your cardboard box oven can work almost just as well as the one in your range in your kitchen but it costs way less to build or to use. All of the materials needed can be found lying around different places in your house.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1 cardboard box
- charcoal
- matches (or a lighter)
- aluminum foil
- 1 round aluminum pie plate
- 3 wire hangers
- scissors or a knife
- pliers
- tongs
- whatever food you want to bake
To build the oven a slide-on top, like a box that holds reams of paper is the best option. The first thing you have to do is cover whole inside surface with aluminum foil paper. Then the three hangers are straightened out and inserted lengthwise from one side of the box to the other, securing them in place on either end. The oven has to be vented by making a few extra holes in it, this will allow gases to escape. You should be able to bake anything that needs less than 45 minutes of baking time. If it needs more time, then the charcoal has to be replenished.
