DIY Bee Bath

Who says bees don’t need a bath or even a drink of water? Over the last couple of months I have been doing a lot more stuff for my bees. From the diy honey extractor to the diy bucket feeder for bees. Today, we will be looking at how to make this diy bee bath.

Why do your bees need a water bath? Well, since it is a shallow water source, it is safer for them as they won’t drown when they go in for a drink. Of all the diy bee water bath projects I found online, I chose this one. Not only is it a cheap project, it is also super simple. It is also a great opportunity to re-purpose some shallow containers around your homestead.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • watering tray or shallow container
  • rocks, glass marbles, or wine corks
  • water
  • log (optional)

The bath itself is as already mentioned above, easy to setup. All you need is the shallow container of your choice, then you place some rocks, marbles or even wine corks before filling it up with water. I found a log on which to sit the container on. Make sure that your water bath is not only refilled, but that it also has fresh water all the time.
