Creamy Cajun Pork Chops

If you are a regular on this blog, then you should already know that we have been raising pigs on the homestead for a while now. One of the ways we like to enjoy their meat is as pork chops. There is one particular recipe everyone seems to love it is the creamy cajun pork chops.

Cajun, also known as Creole often referring to cooking from the south. You can be assured that any recipe from that part of the country is hearty and almost always ‘creamy’. If you do not have access to cremini mushrooms, then white button mushrooms will do the trick. I will share my cajun seasoning blend in another post, but for today let us make some pork chops, shall we?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Take a few minutes to season your chops with black pepper and salt. Then brown in the skillet for about 5 minutes on each side on medium heat. Remove chops from the heat and set aside on a plate. In the left over hot oil add onions and mushrooms the saute them for about 5 minutes.

The garlic goes in next for about half a minute, then in goes your chicken stock followed by the bay leaves before adding the chops back in and cooking for at least 30 minutes. Once cooked you can remove the chops and turn the sauce creamy by adding the sour cream, cajun blend as well as smoked paprika. Serves over rice, or if you are into pasta then try egg noodles.
