Homemade Dish Tablets Recipe

Although we do not currently have a dishwasher, I am sure there are a lot of people who read my blog who do. Hence, I decided to share this homemade dish tablets recipe. I don’t know if you remember but we have made homemade toilet cleaning bombs before too.

The reason why I choose to share this recipe, is mainly because of its simplicity and that it only requires 3 ingredients to make these. You would think that since it is so easy and cheap to make, it would not be effective when it comes to washing your dishes. However, that is not true in this case Jessica from Mom4Real.com swears by it, she actually switched from her old recipe to this one.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • baking soda
  • citric acid
  • dish washing liquid
  • silicone ice cube tray
  • airtight container or jar
  • large bowl
  • whisk

Measure one cup of baking soda and dump it into your bowl. Add one tablespoon of the dish washing liquid as well as a quarter cup of the citric acid. Then you can use the whisk or your hands to mix everything together.

Stuff your molds with the mixture, leave to set and expand for about 10 minutes. Then simply level them off and repeat again after another 10 minutes. Allow the tablets to set overnight, and then you can just flip the molds and empty the tablets. They store well in an airtight jar or container.
