Maybe you do not  like to use harsh chemicals in your house. Or perhaps you have run out of manufactured cleaning materials, there are things around the house that you can use instead to disinfect your surfaces. They work like gang busters and in most cases are more environmentally friendly than the store bought options.

I found a large list of homemade disinfectants you can make right away with herbs and solutions in your house. The sprays can be used on countertops, doorknobs, light switches, cutting boards, etc.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Lavender
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Mint
  • Borax
  • Pine
  • Grapefruit Extract
  • Lemon Essential Oil
  • Vodka
  • Thyme
  • Water

The above is just the full list of the 14 different types of disinfectants you can make. You do not use all the ingredients in one mixture. It is recommended that you test each solution on the surface you intend to use it.

Also if you have access to distilled water, it is a better option than tap water. Regular vinegar should be used instead of regular household vinegar. These disinfectants are not meant for use on fabrics and upholstery they may affect the colors.
