Here is something pretty easy you can make using your used up pasta sauce jars. You can even make this a family fun time project and include the kids. What can you grow in these mason jars? They are perfect for your herb garden on the kitchen window sill or some small flowers that you use to light up rooms in your house. You can set up a jar in less than five minutes and this set up allows you to have irregular watering habits, without killing your plants.

How To Make Mason Jar Planters

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Mason Jars
  • Potting Mix
  • Seedlings
  • Glass Marbles

Make sure your mason jars are clean. You start from the bottom placing a couple of glass marbles. Fill up the rest of the jar with enough potting mix to allow the plants to sit in it without covering the top part with the leaves. Then you place your seedlings in before, topping up with a few more glass marbles. Some of the herbs you can grow include Alyssum and Rosemary. Have yourself a little fun with these planters.
