For something that most people often, it is not a bad idea to know how to whip up some in your own kitchen, right? I mean we have already looked at how to make homemade teriyaki sauce recipe and homemade alfredo sauce/a>, so lets just add this homemade mayonnaise recipe to the list today, shall we?
You will need 8 very basic ingredients for this recipe, and you will find them listed below. One of the advantages of making your own is that you replace unhealthy saturated fats, that are used in manufacturing the store bought version, with healthy replacements like olive, avocado and coconut oil.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- egg yolks
- yellow mustard
- apple cider vinegar
- honey
- salt
- extra virgin olive oil
- avocado oil
- liquid whey
- measuring cup
- blender
- food processor (optional)
Measure and set aside your oils, before adding everything into another mixing bowl and mixing together until well blended using your blender. Hold your blender at an angle and slowly start to incorporate the oil drop by drop. The mayonnaise should begin to get thicker, as more oil is added. If you see the oil pooling in one section, just move your blender around and work the oil into your mixture.
If you do not have access to avocado oil, you can just add olive oil when making your mayo. There are others who may not fancy olive oil in their mayonnaise, they have the option of replacing it with coconut oil or any other healthy oil. The liquid whey is used for fermenting the mayo, this helps preserve it for longer as well as enhancing the flavor.
