How To Make Lettuce Globes

It goes in almost every salad, therefore it is only right that it is always readily available. We have built the diy rain gutter lettuce garden and the diy hanging lettuce leaf basket in previous posts, for this very purpose. Today we shall be looking at how to easily make these lettuce globes.

It does not matter which lettuce variety you plan on growing, it should be able to thrive in one of these. This is a great solution if you have limited space, you can just hang these in your porch or garden. I like to mix and match my lettuce in the globes, so that when it is time to make a salad, you are not just using one type. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes to plant one of these.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

When making your lettuce globe, you can choose to contain the moss ball using inverted wire baskets that are held together by wires. Alternatively you could just plant your lettuce in the moss itself without the wire structure. The ball itself must be soaked in water for at least 10 minutes before you can start planting your lettuce in it.
