How To Grow Wheatgrass

Most people have never heard of wheatgrass, as it is not commonly used as a herb or in dishes. It has risen in popularitly lately due to the increase in the number of people like me, who have taken up juicing. This is why I decided to look up how to grow my own wheatgrass. aka liquid sunshine!

The good thing is, since it is a ‘grass’ it is pretty much easy to grow. It has many health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, cleansing your liver, improving your diabetes and boosting your metabolism for weight loss. Vitamins A, C and E, iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids are some of the natural nutrients it contains.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

In order to speed up the germination process you may want to soak your seeds over night before planting them. Planting is easy, just put some seeds in a pot and cover them lightly with your potting mix. Water your container, and you should start to see some sprouting within a week.

When the blades are a few inches tall you can cut them using a pair of scissors to harvest your wheatgrass. Each crop should provide you with at least three harvests. Oh, before I forget it seems you can grow wheatgrass all year round, just take your pots indoors during the colder months.
