Dried Banana Dog Treat Recipe

Show me one dog that does not enjoy treats, just one! Uhh huh! That’s right! That is my point exactly… all dogs love treats. It doesn’t matter if it is the diy pumpkin peanut butter dog treats, or the diy dog apple chews or even the homemade dog donuts recipe, they love them ALL. This is why in today’s post I will be sharing yet another dog treat recipe. Let’s make this dried banana dog treat recipe, shall we?

As already stated above, there are some things in life you can never have too much of, homemade dog treats are definitely on that list. This simple recipe requires 2 ingredients only, well actually the other ingredient is optional. There’s no special equipment required, the oven in your kitchen will get the job done. When stored in an air tight container, your canine friend(s) can enjoy each new batch for about a week or so.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh bananas
  • lemon juice (optional)
  • cookie sheet
  • parchment paper
  • kitchen brush
  • air tight container

Before you begin peeling and slicing the bananas, don’t forget to preheat your oven. The slices should be laid down flat in one single layer on the cookie sheet. If like me, you don’t like your bananas ‘browning’, then it is wise to brush them with a little lemon juice. Bake in the oven for at least 1 and a half hours, just keep in mind that the longer they bake for the crunchier they become.
