DIY Dog Apple Chews

An apple a day keeps the doctor away! If that is the case, then at least one apple treat a day, keeps your dog happy all day. We’ve actually have made a wide selection of treats for our dogs from the homemade pumpkin peanut butter dog treats to the homemade natural dog chews recipe and their favorite diy doggy breath mints. There is always room for more, that is why we recently introduced them to these diy apple chews for dogs.

It really doesn’t matter which homemade dog treats, you offer your dogs. What is important is that they are all natural and they enjoy the treat. Otherwise it would not be a treat then would it be. For this one you’ll need about 2 hours for baking and just one ingredient, which is apples of course! Apples are great for your dogs as they help with maintaining an effective digestive system, fresh breath and are a great low carb energy source. Since they are many different apple varieties, you may want to try a few in order to identify your dog’s favorite.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step By Step Instructions:

Step 1.

Preheat the oven to 210 degrees F.

Step 2.

Wash your apples and remove the cores as well as any seeds.

Step 3.

Slice the apples into thin slices.

Step 4.

Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the apple slices on it in a single layer.

Step 5.

Pat the apple slices dry with a paper towel.

Step 6.

Bake for an hour, flip the apples over and then bake for another hour.

Step 7.

Turn your oven off, but leave the apple chews inside to cool down.

Step 8.

Store in an air tight container.
