DIY Vertical Herb Garden Planter

I have been trying to avoid sharing any new planter ideas in recent months, as I feel I have already shared a lot. From the diy cedar ladder planter, the diy hanging herb garden planter, the diy block herb planter and many more, just do a quick search on the blog. Anywho, today I finally gave in as I felt my latest discovery this diy vertical planter made from stacked pots was just too cute to not share.

When I made mine, the other day I had my ever growing herb garden in mind, however you can use this planter for your flowers to. Even better you could mix the two, plant flowers in one or two and then herbs in the rest, whatever works for you. It was also a mission finding different sized pots, I had a few small ones available and asked the hubby to bring me the rest from our local hardware store. This is a great space saving solution, for those of us who may have limited space.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Naturally for a sturdy foundation you will have to start with your largest pot on the ground. Insert the rod in the middle and then fill it up with potting soil up to about two thirds. You want to leave a dent in the center where your next pot will sit once you slide it down the rod. This process is repeated until you have all the pots in securely in place.

Don’t try build this in one location and then move it to another, trust me I learnt the hard way then had to rebuild everything in my desired location. Also I left the planting until the planter was complete, that way I did not disturb the plants I had already planned whilst trying to add more pots. When watering start from the top and work your way down.
